Volunteers

Durham Public Schools welcomes parents, businesses and community members who wish to volunteer their time and share their resources in the schools. Community support is vital to ensuring our young people’s success. We urge the entire community to get involved in our schools to help students achieve academic success and become responsible and productive citizens.

Volunteer opportunities include:

Tutoring
Field trip chaperon
Office assistance
Business/Organization: adopt a school for a day or a year
Gather materials for classrooms
Guest Speaker
Provide career information

Over 5000 volunteers entered our schools during the past three years. Please consider joining us. You choose the school, the grade and the day of the week. No experience needed.
