School Media Centers
Visit your school media center from any computer!
It is no longer necessary for parents and students to physically visit the school media center to have access to all that it offers. Durham Public Schools has a new Web-based library system that provides access to library resources at any time.
Destiny Library Manager is available in all schools and can be accessed from each school’s Website.
Through this system, parents and students can perform a simple search to find which books are available. There are quick links to online encyclopedias, search engines and tutorials for learning new skills. Teachers also can set up links to resources they want students to reference.
The Catalog that is a key part of the Website allows parents and students to search by keyword, author, title, subject or series to determine the books available in their school’s media center. They can then check out the books online and pick them up at the school. Parents can easily see which books their child has checked out and when books are due.
