Eligibility Chart for One-Year and Four-Year Contracts
Four year teacher contracts will be offered for the first time starting with the 2018/2019 school year. The criteria for the Four Year contract and the One Year contract are listed in the chart below.
Please be aware that only full-time (80% or higher FTE) certified teachers and instructional support staff will be offered any contract. The following will not be offered a DPS contract:

Part-time-less than 80%
Retirees
VIF/Participate - Contract is with Participate
Unlicensed employees such as any “Lead TA’s”
Employees who failed to maintain or obtain the license such as those on an emergency permit or lateral/provisional that is expiring June 30, 2018

Non-Career Status | Must have worked with DPS in a teacher role for the most recent 3 or more consecutive years (immediately prior to the offer of the multi-year contract). And be in good standing per below: • Must be proficient or higher on all standards on 2016/2017 evaluation • Must be proficient or higher on all standards on 2017/2018 evaluation • *Not currently on a monitored, directed or mandatory improvement plan or a corrective action plan, and have not been on any such plan during the current school year • The teacher has not received a written reprimand or warning included in the teacher’s official personnel file, a demotion, suspension without pay or other documented disciplinary plan in the official personnel file during the current school year. If the contract is renewed for a teacher not in good standing, it can only be for a term of one year. And the teacher must be placed on a growth plan (monitored or directed) and provided additional support |

Career | Career service teachers do not receive annual contracts. Therefore, they will not receive notification through the renewal/non-renewal process. The last time career was granted/voted on by the BOE was in June 2013. |
