
Student Withdrawal Process
Withdrawing from Durham Public Schools:
If you are withdrawing your student from Durham Public School and moving out of district or attending a charter or private school within Durham, follow the procedures below:
Turn in any electronic devices, books, uniforms, fines before withdrawing.
Contact the Records Specialist at your child’s current school to let them know you are leaving either by emailing the school with the name of the new school, city, and state; or complete a withdrawal form at the school with the Records Specialist.
Enroll your child at the new school. The new school will request records using our online portal: ScribTransfer. We only accept requests through this FERPA compliant site. Students whose records are not requested are at risk as being marked a dropout.
Transferring within Durham Public Schools:
If you are withdrawing your student from one Durham Public School and moving to another school within district, follow the procedures below:
Turn in any electronic devices, books, uniforms, fines before withdrawing. A new device will be issued at the enrolling school.
