Specifically designed to develop the internal teaching talent of the district’s instructional  assistants who intend to pursue careers as licensed teachers. 

Teacher Assistant to Teacher Program (TA2TP) DPS Partnership with NCCU 2024-2025

TA2TP Criteria:

Minimum of 1 year as an Instructional Assistant with DPS

• Principal Recommendation

• Minimum of 60 credit hours from an accredited community college/university

• Minimum GPA of 2.7 from an accredited community college/university

• 1-page essay on why they want to be a teacher (Elementary, EC, or Middle Grades)

o 12-point, Ariel font, double-spaced

• Must complete the program in 3 years or less, including summer school if necessary

• Must work for DPS for a minimum of 3 years after graduation

• Must provide all transcripts to NCCU when applying

  • Graduate Classes- except Special Education   Graduate Program through TA2TP
