Murray-Massenburg Elementary School -

The first Black History Program in the history of our school was a success. The original play, which was written, directed and produced by Murray Massenburg's very own McDaniel Roberts, highlighted the rich history of Durham and it's groundbreaking citizens. The performance celebrated Durham legends Ernie Barnes, Betty Massenburg, Pauli Murray, Chuck Davis, Emeritus Rev. W. E. Daye, EVOKE, Triangle Links and more! The production was performed by Murray Massenburg students and faculty in front of a packed auditorium. A special performance by Voices of Peace, a choir from Peace Missionary Baptist Church, featured our very own Principal Mshinda Middleton-Brown and McDaniel Roberts. Not only was this a celebration of Durham's history it was also history in the making!
