This is an excellent Summer 2025 opportunity for young women in grades 9-12 within our district.
The 2025 NC Emergency Management Experience is a free program designed to expose students to the world of emergency management and public safety.
The event will take place June 23 - June 27, 2025 at the North Carolina Emergency Operations Center in Raleigh.
Here are the key components of the event:
Learn about key emergency management and public safety jobs.
Explore careers through field trips within Durham, Wake, and Orange Counties.
Participate in a career fair and networking event.
There is no cost for students to participate in the program. NC Emergency Management will provide breakfast, snacks, and lunch for participants; however, travel to and from the NC Emergency Operations Center will not be provided. In the past two years, only four Durham high school students have had the opportunity to attend this program. We are hoping to increase participation moving forward and would greatly appreciate your support in promoting this program to DPS teachers and students. The application deadline is April 21st.
