Greetings, Cougar Families!

This is Principal Cheek with your weekly message. It’s been a fantastic week in Cougar country! As a reminder, we have a four-day week this week. There will be no school on Friday, April 18!

We want to congratulate our 7th grade counselor, Ms. Tarica Rawlinson, on being recognized as Durham Public Schools Counselor of the Year! This is a well-deserved honor as Ms. Rawlinson supports, advocates, and genuinely cares about our students and staff. We are extremely proud of her!

The CMS Global Travel Program just returned from an amazing adventure to Central Europe.  Don’t miss out on next year’s trip to Costa Rica.  Spots are filling up quickly!  The trip will be over spring break 2026 and will consist of kayaking, zip lining, hiking, snorkeling, and so much more!  You can sign up by going to www.eftours.com/2633941TN

We only have 21 spots left!  Contact Amanda McCall at amanda_mccall@dpsnc.net or 919-560-3916 ext.16310 for more information.

In sports news, we have home games this week. Monday, April 14th, baseball and girls’ soccer will host Githens. On Wednesday, April 16, track and field will host Lowes Grove while baseball and girls’ soccer hosst Lucas.  Thursday, April 17, baseball and girls’ soccer will host Brogden.
