McLamb

Congratulations to Ms. McLamb - Glenn's 24-25 Teacher of the Year!

Ms. McLamb has been a standout teacher at Glenn for 30 years. During that time she has quietly established herself as a leader within the building for teachers, families, staff, students, and more. She has nurtured teachers on her team and helped provide mentoring and support for teachers across the building. She has been nominated numerous years for Teacher of the Year and has grown her skills through her education, partnerships, professional development, and more. At a time when most teachers with 30 years of experience are looking towards retirements, Ms. McLamb continues to grow herself and those around her. Just this past summer she led professional development for Glenn on how she integrates writing across all content areas. In a PD survey, teachers from across the school requested her to lead this work as they are blown away by the writing work her 2nd graders have posted in the hallway.

Ms. McLamb’s reach extended beyond Glenn’s students to all of DPS. For the past two years she has worked the year-long EL academies and for many years has worked RtA camps, summer school, and more. Her passion to improve the learning outcomes for all students - not just her own is evident in everything she does.

Ms. McLamb is part of the School Improvement Team, Leadership Team, and more. She has taken the lead on organizing events as part of Growing Together to welcome new (and returning) Glenn families. She has opened her classroom to student teachers, teachers from other DPS schools, and, this year, even the Governor of North Carolina, Roy Cooper, when he came to introduce his breakfast initiative to the state.

It is a pleasure and a privilege to work with Ms. McLamb every day!
