The Riverside High School library does not charge fines except in the case of lost books.
Students can check out books for three weeks, and renew their books up to three times. Books are overdue when they have not been turned in or renewed by the book's due date.
Overdue books are marked as lost after they have been overdue for 45 days. At that point, a fine is assigned to the student to replace the lost book.
Students can either pay the fine, bring back the lost book, or bring in a replacement copy of the book to clear the fine from their accounts. Please note that students do need to pay off all library fines in order to graduate, so it is best to take care of lost book fines to avoid delays in the graduation process.
Students seeking to pay lost book fines can use OSP to make the payment. To pay via OSP, please follow these directions:
Go to Online School Payments
Select "2021/2022 Lost/Damaged Media Books and Materials" (this will also be for 2022/2023 fines, as the category hasn't been updated in the system from last year)
Write the name of the books you are paying for and the name/student ID of the student in the description box
To find the name of the lost books, check for the weekly overdue books email in the student's DPS email inbox
Alternately, students can see their library accounts by logging in to Destiny on RapidIdentity and checking under "My Stuff"
Click "add to cart" and complete the checkout process.
Important:
You only have to pay fines from high school. This means that you might have fines from your middle or elementary school that you do not have to pay. Please contact Ms. Wine (Email Jenna Wine) and Dr. Gold (Email Tara Gold) to figure out which fines need to be paid.
