I’m Mrs. Desirae Smith, the 7th Grade Assistant Principal at Brogden Middle School, and I am passionate about fostering student advocacy and supporting teachers and staff. I earned my B.S. in Elementary Education with a concentration in Social Sciences and my Masters of School Administration from North Carolina Central University. My journey in education began as a 4th Grade Math & Science Teacher in Hertford County, and I later continued in the same role in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools before transitioning to Durham Public Schools as a Math Coach. My path eventually led me to Brogden, where I now proudly serve as Assistant Principal.
Outside of work, I love fishing, building LEGO projects, and line dancing. I am excited to continue serving the Brogden community and look forward to making a lasting impact on our students, staff, and families!
