School Counseling Program
We provide a comprehensive school counseling program that fosters student achievement and enhances the academic, personal/social, and career development of all students. School counselors collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators and community agencies to promote student success. We provide services through:
individual student planning and academic advising
individual counseling and small group counseling
crisis intervention and mental health referrals
classroom lessons
Child and Family Support Team (CFST)
Neal Middle continues to be a part of CFST. This is an initiative consisting of the email school nurse and email social worker. CFST is a special state-funded program whose purpose it to identify and coordinate appropriate school and community services/supports for children at-risk of school failure, pregnant or at-risk of pregnancy, engagement in high level of unsafe activities, court involved, suicidal, family crisis, out-of-home placement and/or developmental factors that affect academic performance.
Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS)
MTSS is a multi-tiered system of support, which promotes school improvement through engaging, research-based academic and behavioral practices. MTSS employs a systems approach to using data guided problem solving to maximize growth for all students.
